1990 West Wight Potter sailboat for sale. I am the 3rd owner of this versatile trailerable sailboat in good 
condition and ready for sailing. The WWP 15 sits on a galvanized Pacific trailer that is in good condition 
with all lights working. Also a 3HP Johnson engine that was recently serviced and is in great running condition. 
Cockpit cushions are like new and cabin cushions are in good shape. The WWP 15 is outfitted with mainsail, 
storm jib and extra large Genoa jib for extra boost of speed. 
I have sailed this boat in South and SF bays and it's very steady even in windy conditions. The WWP 15 
has been in salt water less than a dozen times and only in last 12 months. The WWP 15 can be easily towed with 
a 4 or 6 cylinder car. 
The only reason I'm selling this boat is due to purchase of larger sailboat. This is a great way to get into 
sailing and go green for low green.

attention to this delightful little vessel.

It has been kept in a freshwater slip from June through September for the past 5 years. While the boat was in the 
water, it was kept covered with the mast up boat cover. The rest of the time it has been kept in a garage.
The bottom is barrier coated and covered with bottom paint, so the boat is an ideal candidate for being in a wet slip.
if you are going to trailer sail it, then you are stuck with maintaining the bottom paint. Once a boat has received 
barrrier coat and bottom paint you really cannot go back to the original gel coat finish.

'96 Potter 15' with trailer, very good condition.  White hull with red stripe.  Red sails, new Genoa,

I have decided that a Potter is much better than a Flying Junior.
Thing is, I need to sell the FJ to make room for the Potter, SO:
For sale! One bright red Flying Junior, nearly restored, freshly painted, and freshly named: Onomatopoeia. Hull number 1567.
Note that the paint job is the FIRST ever I have done, and it isn't mirror smooth. But the boat still can fly! Original 
1976 sails, main needs some work, and the jib just got re-sewn. All the running rigging has been replaced, including brand new 
steel cable halyards. I was in the process of inventing a custom machined hinge for raising the mast, and all that needs to be 
done is install it. New CB gasket, and some new hardware. The spinnaker is TOAST, but if you can fix it, it's yours. 
New inspection port, too. Rudder, tiller, tiller extender, mast, boom, main, jib, all present and functional.
The compression post will need to be changed soon, but that's about a day's work, maybe two.
The trailer is newly re-furbished, with new plate and wiring. The lights need changing, though, they aren't the "dunkable" kind.
I am asking for $2,000 which is about how much I put into it.

The genoa has a slight tear near the top that I have repaired with sail tape , can easily be fixed (sewn).I would say the boat is in

This is a great boat for experenced or beginning sailers, especially those looking to move up from a small day sailer to a boat 
with facilities for overnight usage. Originally designed in 1951 (http://www.westwightpotter.com/company/history.htm), the West 
Wight Potter design is well known for its great stability and ease of sailing. 
The wide, flat bottom aft of the boat makes it self righting as well as nearly impossible to capsize, while the V shaped bow 
forward gives it the same handling characteristics as traditional sailboat designs. A crank down keel keeps the boat's 
center of gravity low, but can quickly and easily be raised from the cockpit to allow for sailing in shallow waters.  This keel 
design, when combined with a pull up rudder gives the boat a mere 6 inches of  draft, makes it possble to safely and easily beach 
the boat, leaving you free to camp or roam remote places that other sailboats can't ever reach. For additional safety, 
International Marine's version of this great design has positive bouyancy 
built into the boat making it unsinkable.
My boat is in good shape for a 1991 with no structural damage or other flaws. If you buy it you could be sailing it the same 
day you pick it up. All electrical systems have been tested and are in working order, and some of them, like the main panel, 
have even been upgraded from the original equipment.

This boat originally came with the manufacturer's bunk trailer. Launching and recovering the boat with the bunk trailer 
was a pain as the friction of the bunk carpet made it difficult to pull the boat out of the water and get it properly centered 
on the trailer. In 2004 I purchased a brand new Ventura Roller Trailer for $1345. This trailer makes launching and recovering 
the boat significantly easier than it was with the original trailer.
Bought new today a comparably equiped West Wight Potter 19 would cost you over $17500. Even a new 15ft Potter would cost 
you over $10000 comparably equipped, and unlike the 19ft, the 15ft is only a day sailer. I purchased this boat and the trailer 
it came with for $6200 in 2002. In total I've spent over $8000 on the boat and various upgrades to it. 
I'm asking only $5000 for it, which I think is a great deal considering all you get with it. Don't agree? Keep in 
mind that many used boats get sold with lots of stuff you'll need taken off by the seller for use on their next boat. 
If you go to a boat store or to International Marine's web pages and price out things like line, pulleys, porta pottie,
and some of the other things that are included with this boat you'll see that you're not just getting a fun and 
reliable boat, you're saving yourself a lot of $ towards the many things you'd need to buy if you purchased a boat 
with less equipment.
